Our story
A Carolina Tradition, Chicago-Style
Growing up in central North Carolina, I was spoiled by legendary barbecue spots like Allen & Son and Scott’s Bar-B-Q. After moving to Chicago, I quickly realized how much I missed the vinegar-dipped, oak-smoked barbecue from back home. So I decided to bring a taste of Carolina to the Windy City. With my wife AJ crafting her own signature sauces and adding a unique twist, Dixie Dank BBQ was born.

Today, Jon and AJ serve up handcrafted, small-batch barbecue through pop-ups, private events, and catering, bringing Chicagoans together over plates piled high with slow-smoked meats. From authentic Carolina pulled pork to Chicago-style cheddar-and-giardiniera hot links, every bite is a tribute to their roots, passion, and creativity.
